In 1980, Mattel released their ‘Clash of the Titans’ action figure line based on characters from one of my favourite films of the 80’s! The 1981 MGM fantasy-adventure ‘Clash of the Titans’ was written by Beverley Cross and directed by Desmond Davis. The only wave released consisted of four 3.75” character figures, and two beast figures that are approximately 15” tall. The Pegasus and the Kraken can fetch up to $500.00 Canadian for one in decent shape without a box. The initial figures sold reasonably well but the line was not continued, robbing fans of a Medusa or Zeus to play with.
All four figures came packaged on single cards except for Perseus that also came in a 2 pack with Pegasus. Early plans were for the line to make a Princess Andromeda figure, but Mattel opted to make Thallo instead. There were also plans to offer a Calibos's Throne Play-set. The play-set appeared in distributor catalogues but only a prototype was made. Here are some pictures of the play-set from the plaid stallions website ( http://plaidstallions.com/reboot/mattel-clash-of-titans-catalog/ ) Mattel Clash of the Titans Catalog – PS plaidstallions.com

Perseus was released both carded and in a two-pack with Pegasus

5 points of articulation: neck, shoulders, and hips
Sword - included with all four figures
Soft plastic tail
Charon: Devil's Boatman
3 points of articulation: shoulders and hip
Sword - included with all 4 figures
Articulated "mono-leg" to simulate robes
Charon by far has the best artwork of the 4 in my option
Thallo: Captain of the Guard
Solid construction (no rubber band)
5 points of articulation: neck, shoulders, and hips
Sword - included with all four figures
Shield - also included with Perseus
Pegasus
Pegasus could be purchased in a two pack with Perseus, or alone. Pegasus had some great sculpt work and would look amazing on any collectors shelf.

The Kraken
Sea Monster
15 inches tall
Generally the Kraken has a few common missing parts such as his tail, flippers or a arm. He is a hard to find item at whether its incomplete or not. I for one am still hunting for this creature for my Clash of the Titans collection. Last one i had saw on the Facebook Market place was selling for $650 and wasn't complete so the hunt continues.....

Top Left we the Prototype of Calibos's Throne Play-set, Top right is the Sword, Shield and Helmet play weapons and Bottom is Bubo the Owl, sadly none of these items went into production as Mattel didn't see the point after the movie left the theatres.
