KONG: SKULL ISLAND

Overall I'd buy it again, looks great and displays well in package or out of the box and it's gonna make for some cool photo-shoots down the road.

This weeks action figure overview is the NECA Ultimate King Kong Skull Island, as this is not a standard review and a overview we are covering the basics only so let jump right in with a little what is included and points of articulation and finally my thoughts.

Whats in the package and Points of articulation

The figure stands 8" tall with 30 points of articulation, as with most NECA figures the joints can be hard to move so it's always good to warm them up a little bit to avoid damaging them. Kong has detailed hair and battle wounds across his body and head sculpt which he revived from defending Skull Island.

In the package, we have of course the figure as well as 2 interchangeable heads ( one with an opening jaw) 3 pairs of hands, a pteranodon, a tree trunk, and a pit monster. the package is collector friendly like most NECA figures I've purchased in the past with an opening flap.

The Verdict

The bottom line for me aside from the normal NECA figure issues like tight joints, the scares and cuts look amazing and the overall sculpting on the figure is fantastic. As for the second head that is included it also looks great but I wish the jaw opened as well. Hands are easily swapped but do we need 3 sets, I would have rather had a second pit monster instead of more hands, the Pteranodon looks great with a moving head but could really use a flight stands as it doesn't stand on its own. As for the Pit monster which looks great with moving head and jaw, I just wish they included 2 of them. The final part is the tree trunk which looks great, if anything it could be a tiny bit bigger so he holds it better.

Overall I'd buy it again, looks great and displays well in package or out of the box and it's gonna make for some cool photoshoots down the road.
