MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE ORIGINS: NINJOR REVIEW

It was the 1980's and Ninjas were hot whether it was in the films like American Ninja or Ninja Terminator, Enter the ninja and others. So every toy line required a Ninja, Rambo had White Dragon and Black Dragon, Gijoe had a few Snake eyes, Storm Shadow, Jinx, and that's only the tip of the iceberg, Chuck Norris had Super Ninja and the list goes on. So in 1987 Masters of the Universe gave us NINJOR the Evil Ninja Warrior, the Origins: Ninjor is from the 4th wave of the line and currently selling at retail at various locations if you can track him down, I lucked out getting him in a trade from a friend, so today we will be taking a look at the 2021 Masters of the Universe Origins: Ninjor.

Packaging: Ninjor comes package on a retro style card with the iconic red rocks and the Masters logo at the top with the stand vintage style bubble, sadly not much of a way to persevere the packaging here good thing I'm a loose collector. On the back of the card we see some amazing artwork featuring Clamp Champ and King Randor, some pictures of what is packed in with and twist into battle. Much like the vintage toy line we also see what characters are currently in the wave Ninjor is from.

Mini Comic and Papers: A new pack in on this wave is a paper showing how to take the figure apart I'm not sure if this is really needed. As for the Mini Comic on the cover with have a great Picture of Ninjor Fleeing with Stratos Staff, much like the other international versions of the mini comics we lack any word bubbles to clearly cut down on the cost of having to print in various languages the on the back we have who is in this wave just like the vintage mini comic a great little but of nostalgia.

Figure and Accessories: Ninjor is packed with all the same weapons as the vintage version sword, bow, and nun-chucks and seem to be made as to the same kind of plastic as Roboto's arm add-ons. The Bow and arrow defiantly aren't as nice looking as its vintage counterpart, the only plus is it can fit onto his back I will defiantly be displaying him with his sword or chucks and leave the bow in my parts bin. As for the figure and his armour, Ninjor is basically reuse of Skeletor's body but his head and armour, so I won't be going into the body of the figure because it's just reuse of most of the Evil Warriors. There are some definite pluses with his plastic armour which is an upgrade from the vintage soft goods version. The first thing I like is the ability to hold his chucks and sword or bow on his back but one drawback is the range of motion with his arms as they pop out if you move them up to far. His head looks way better with a sculpted hood instead of the cloth but sadly you can't display the hood down like the vintage figure and this is how I display my vintage one and a second head was not included with the figure.

The Verdict: Ninjor is a decent upgrade of the vintage action with only a few issues i.e bow and shoulders, the sculpt is great, he displays well and finally you can get some cool Ninja poses with the Origins Ninjor. If you can track down Ninjor he is defiantly worth the buy.
