Masters of the Universe Origins Roboto Action Figure Review

Updated: Feb 22, 2021

ROBOTO

Heroic Mechanical Warrior

It's an exciting time if you're a lifelong Masters of the Universe collector or a new young fan with the return to retail of the Masters of the Universe Origins line and other collectibles, New Cartoon from Netflix, and some great new comics and books from Dark Horse Comics. Today we will be reviewing the wave 3 Roboto action figure which is based on the original Masters of the Universe Roboto which happens to be one of my Top 5 figures from the vintage line.

Like the other figures in this line, Roboto comes packaged on a vintage-style card with an included mini-comic, it's worth noting if your Roboto is an international version the comic does not have any writing in it. Roboto figure is a nice recreation of the original figure with some updated articulation which includes shoulders, swivel hinge elbows and knees, hinged wrists, ball-jointed hips, boot cut, and ankle articulation. Now if you have the International version of Roboto there will not be any text in mini-comic like all the others in earlier waves.

Roboto stands about 6 inches tall which is just a bit taller then the vintage figure, in a very similar style of the vintage with a few noticeable differences on this new figures.

Missing 2 gears and heart in back of the chest

Chest is sightly bigger to make room for arm sockets and waist plug so you can still take the figure apart

Weapons and head, boots etc are just molded in a silver marble type plastic are and not painted with a shiny paint like the vintage figure

Roboto has a very similar peg system for his attachments as Trap-jaw does just one has a sightly bigger peg but you can swap these parts around.

Now i did find some minor silver paint splatter on the one leg of this and some of t he weapons have a slight warming in the plastic which you could put in hot water to correct this issue. His head does swivel but its not easy to do and he does have some balance issues because of all the parts in his chest.

My final thoughts this is a very good representation of the vintage figure that includes all those key features to made Roboto a good-looking figure and one of the better figures from the line, his action features are retained which is a plus. All around well worth the cost if this is a line you are collecting.
