My Personal Top 5 Science Fiction Movies of the 1950's-70's

Here is my personal list of 1950-70's Science Fiction movies, as some of my favourite film and TV franchises( Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, Doctor Who, Star Wars) are fro this ear it just makes sense to share my Top 5 which is not a set in stone Top 5 these seem to change order or add new ones over time and my current moods and most tend to revolve around time travel or a dystopian future, parallel worlds.

#5. Daleks – Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. 1966

My #5 pick is Daleks - Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. this was the second movie staring Peter Cushing as Dr Who, this is definitely the stronger movie of the 2 possibly because the story was based off a actual Doctor Who series The Dalek Invasion of Earth. Bernard Cribbins joins the Dr as one of his companions along with Roberta Tovey as Susan Foreman ( his granddaughter) and Jill Curzon as Louise.

#4 The Time Machine 1960 The Time Machine is based on the novel by H.G Wells, an inventor constructs a machine that allows him to travel into the future, once there he discoverers the mankind has evolved into two different species one the passive, childlike, and vegetarian Eloi and the underground-dwelling Morlocks which feed on the Eloi. Part of the appeal for me is the campy effects of the 1960's style pair with a great story and you cant go.

And #1 Conquest of the Planet of the Apes 1972

Conquest is the 4th movie in the Planet of the Apes series and takes place in 1991 about 18 years after the events of Escape from the Planet of the Apes. In this movie we see the Apes over throw the humans when the son of Zira and Cornelius ( Caesar ) leads a revolt on their Cruel Human Masters, which creates a time loop leading to the original film.
